Winter Olympics: Vancouver 2010

The Winter Olympics start tonight, and since this blog is largely Olympic themed, I figured I needed to make a post. Except that I have nothing to add. I don't know anything about the Winter Olympics except that the skiers go really fast, Shaun White is really good, Apolo Anton Ohno is possibly the best half-Asian athlete ever and still going at it, and only countries in the Northern hemisphere compete.  I do know that we visited Montreal this summer and toured the Olympic stadium there, and learned that during those 1976 Summer Olympics, as well as during the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, the Canadian hosts failed to win a single gold medal.  I really hope that ends. I mean I don't even really care about Canada, but that's just sad. Let them win in hockey.

I hear they're also low on snow in British Columbia, which is strange cause we have too much of it here in Washington, DC. In fact I have had more snow days this week (4) then I did in 6 years of high school in Boston (2).  So that's been pretty cool. I don't really know what to do with snow days though.  It seems to have involved waking up late, working out, starting homework, then realizing at 7pm that the University has declared the following day a snowday and calling all your friends and then going out.  Except that I have gotten work done, relax mom.

I'm heading to a tournament in North Carolina, gotta go!
